Emotional Growth

Are You or Your Teen Struggling with Anxiety or Emotional Difficulties?

We all go through times when we feel worried, confused, overwhelmed, angry or sad. Teenage years can be exciting, but they can also bring pressure from many directions including school, friendships, social media, family expectations and trying to understand where you fit in.

You May Be Experiencing:

  • Persistent anxiety, excessive worry, or panic attacks.

  • Feeling low, emotionally exhausted, or overwhelmed.

  • Stress related to school, exams, work, family or relationships.

  • Low self-esteem or a lack of confidence.

  • Social anxiety or fear of being judged.

  • Difficulty making or maintaining friendships.

  • Bullying, peer pressure, or feeling left out.

  • Struggles with identity, self-image, or self-worth.

  • Negative or self-critical thoughts that are hard to switch off.

  • Feeling angry, irritable, or overwhelmed by emotions.

  • Difficulty coping with change, seperation, divorce, loss, or grief.

  • Feeling stuck in unhelpful thoughts, behaviours or patterns.

How I Can Help Through Counselling

Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. Together, we can explore the difficulties you may be facing and work towards creating meaningful and lasting change.

Through Counselling, I Can Help You To:

  • Better understand anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotions.

  • Develop healthier ways of coping with difficult thoughts and feelings.

  • Build confidence and improve self-esteem.

  • Learn practical strategies to manage worry, panic, and self-esteem.

  • Improve communication and relationships.

  • Challenge negative thinking patterns.

  • Feel more in control of you thoughts, emotions and self-image.

I understand that every person's experience is different. Counselling is tailored to your individual needs, personality, and pace. My aim is not to "fix" you, but to help you better understand yourself, feel more empowered, and develop tools that support your wellbeing now and in the future.

My Person-Centred Approach with CBT Strategies

My approach to counselling is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. I aim to provide a warm, accepting, and empathic environment where you feel heard, understood, and respected. At the heart of our work together is the therapeutic relationship. I will work alongside you, offering support without judgement and helping you explore your experiences in a way that feels safe and meaningful.

Alongside this person-centred foundation, I may also draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) strategies when appropriate. CBT techniques can help you:

  • Recognise and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours

  • Develop practical coping skills for anxiety and stress

  • Learn techniques to manage worry and self-criticism

  • Build healthier habits and behaviours that support your wellbeing

By combining a compassionate, person-centred approach with evidence-based CBT strategies, counselling can offer both emotional support and practical tools to help you move forward.
