Let's Talk

About me...
My name is Carlyn Miller, and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist based in Evesham, Worcestershire. I offer counselling and psychotherapy to adults, children and young people, both face-to-face in Evesham and online across the UK.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, and I believe that having a safe, trusting and non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts and feelings can be life-changing. My aim is to provide a warm, compassionate environment where you feel heard, accepted and supported at your own pace.
I have experience working with children, young people and adults experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress, life transitions and emotional overwhelm.
Alongside my private practice, I work at a local college supporting young people aged 16 to 25 with additional needs as they prepare for adulthood. This role has strengthened my understanding of the unique challenges that young people and families can face through both online and offline sessions.

My approach is rooted in person-centred counselling, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. I offer a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, authenticity and acceptance, allowing you the space to explore your experiences and discover your own path forward. While I predominantly offer talking therapy, I also incorporate creative approaches where appropriate, which can be especially helpful when finding the words feels difficult.

Outside of counselling, I am married and have two teenage children and a gorgeous little Springer Spaniel pup named Ted. As a family, we enjoy spending time in nature and appreciating the wellbeing that comes from connecting with the world around us.
I am passionate about supporting people to better understand themselves, build resilience and move towards a more fulfilling life. Whatever brings you to counselling, you do not have to face it alone.

Anxiety
Anxiety is a natural human response to feeling threatened, stressed, or under pressure. It's characterised by feelings of tension, worry, and physical changes like increased heart rate and sweating. Anxiety is different from fear, which is a short-term response to a specific, present threat. Mild anxiety can be beneficial, alerting us to dangers and helping us prepare.
Depression
Depression is a low mood that lasts for weeks or months and affects your daily life. Many things can cause depression such as stressful events, bereavement, family history and giving birth.
Self Esteem
Self-esteem refers to how you feel about yourself and your value as a person. It's about how you think, see, and feel about yourself, including your confidence in your abilities and who you are. It can fluctuate, meaning it can be high, low, or change over time.
Relationship issues
Relationship issues encompass a wide range of difficulties that can arise in relationships, friendships, or family dynamics. These issues can stem from various sources, communication problems, differing values or expectations, infidelity, financial difficulties and unresolved conflicts.
